The People’s Cabaret Project presents From These Streets I Rise, a one-woman cabaret event celebrating the 20^th Anniversary of Street Roots, a local non-profit creating income opportunities for individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty. Created and performed by Portland-based theatre artist and old-time chanteuse, Mikki Jordan, From These Streets I Rise uses storytelling and song to explore the experience of homelessness while honoring some of the most resilient members within our community. Inspired by interviews of Street Roots’ vendors directly impacted by homelessness, this is a unique community event not to be missed.
