It’s raining in Jenkintown, the kind of storm that starts off quaint, but could slowly overrun the whole town. This is true, and
Hannah, who works part-time as a checkout girl in a pet store, has gone missing. The way her absence, and at times her presence, affects the disaffected residents—like the old woman in the yellow house who keeps killing her goldfish, or the young Chinese American woman who works at the take-out joint, or the Weatherwoman who mistakenly predicted sun—shows us an American town on the decline, might be small or large, but in this assembly of stories about (or not about) Hannah, we see the loneliness and humanity of the world amplified. Funny, sad, honest and maybe a little wet, Hannah and Other Stories takes us through the
belly of the storm, and perhaps, to the first golden rays of sun. This reading of Hannah and Other Stories is funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council. ASL interpretation will be provided. #seeingsounds LED Piano provided by Piano Push Play & CymaSpace.
